EU Directorate-General Office for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO) Receives EuroCham Myanmar
EuroCham Myanmar Executive Director Mr. Marc de la Fouchardière visited the Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development of the European Commission in Brussels on 11 September. He was received by International Aid/Cooperation Officer of DG DEVCO Mr. Alejandro Montalbán.
The meeting was set to share updates regarding relations between Myanmar and the EU in terms of trade and development cooperation. Executive Director Marc de la Fouchardière updated the progress of EuroCham’s advocacy engagement with stakeholder institutions in Myanmar and shared current and future activities of EuroCham in terms of sector-specific dialogues with policy makers and private sector development in Myanmar. The parties also shared opinions on the future of Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP) granted by the EU to Myanmar.
DG DEVCO is responsible for formulating European Union development policy and thematic policies in order to reduce poverty in the world, to ensure sustainable economic, social and environmental development and to promote democracy, the rule of law, good governance and the respect of human rights, notably through external aid.
