Job summary

As a key support and deputy to the Sales Director, the Head of Commercial Strategy takes the full responsibility of developing the commercial strategy of Seagram Myanmar, designing and implementing of sales, tools and techniques across the organization, coordinating sales programs with the regional branches, marketing and trade marketing, with an overall objective to support sales target achievement and company’s commercial development

Key responsibilities

1. Develop Commercial Strategy

  • Develop market insight through frequent interactions with sales branches and trade partners

  • Drive market monitoring and collection of market intelligence, competitors’ performance and strategy

  • Support Sales Director to develop channel strategies, effective wholesale contracts, trade programs and trade investment guideline

2. Deploy Commercial Policy

  • Liaison with Branches, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Finance to drive prompt actions to meet and exceed sales revenue and profitability targets.

  • Build clear and precise field implementation and branch operational guidelines to ensure sales branches have sufficient operational guidance

  • Create a winning atmosphere by effectively communicating the sales cycle plan, channel strategy and vision to all branches throughout the sales channel

3. Sales Planning

  • Lead MIS team to manage sales forecasting, planning, reporting and budgeting processes with high levels of accuracy and consistency

  • Remove structure deficiencies and create a robust communication structure to ensure prompt and sharp program implementation to capture market opportunity and growth

4. Contracts, Pricing and Trade terms

  • Analyze price positions and recommend the most appropriate price strategy, including profitability assessment. Work closely with the branches to develop a robust plan to take a substantial price increase based on market analysis and dynamics

  • Assess trade terms structure and contract policies, propose changes/ adjustments based on the local legal evolutions and commercial policies

5. Organization development and change management

  • Build high-performance teams to drive organizational performance; strong focus on people leadership and development of functional talent

  • Be a “Change Agent”, drive transformation and change through the development and implementation of people strategies that enable the organization to thrive


Job Requirements

  • Degree holder with formal business qualifications or equivalent

  • Minimum 10 years working experience in Sales in beverages or FMCG

  • Organized and strong result orientation, agile with numbers, critical thinking and autonomy

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and proactive; energetic and outgoing personality

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English

  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
